Russia Accuses Israel

Debka reports that Russia has accused Israel of arming Georgia day before Syrian President Assad arrives in Moscow to discuss military cooperation:

One plan on the table in Moscow to punish Israel, DEBKAfile's sources report, is the establishment of big Russian military, naval and air bases in Syria and the release of advanced weapons systems withheld until now from Iran (the S-300 air-missile defense system) and Syria (the nuclear-capable 200 km-range Iskandar surface missile).

During his visit to Moscow, Syrian dictator Assad is expected to reach an agreement with Russians to station their aircraft carrier group in Syrian port of Tartus. The carrier group would automatically bring to Syria the newest S-400 SAM battery, ostensibly to defend Russian vessels but really to inform Syrians of Israeli aircraft.
