Two-Faced Biden Gets Broadsided in Israel

Today, Vice President Joe Biden, in Israel for a three hour day tour reportedly made the statement that you don't have to be Jewish to be a Zionist. The pandering stopped, however, when Israel announced it had approved 1600 new housing units in East (Biblical) Jerusalem. The US Consulate in Jerusalem sent out a tweet with a statement by Vice-President Biden:

"I condemn the decision by the government of Israel to advance planning for new housing units in East Jerusalem."

So, in the morning, Joe Biden does his best to conjure up warm fuzzies among the Israelites by implying that he is a Zionist; then, probably broad-sided by the an anouncement from the government of Israel (did Netanyahu know?) that can only be characterized as Zionist in nature, the other side of Biden's mouth decalres that he is certainly no Zionist.

Carl in Jerusalem (IsraelMatzav) has more on Ramat Shlomo, the neighborhood were the units are to be located.

And here is a Google Map of Ramat Shlomo. It's not labelled but Ramat Shlomo is in the upper left hand corner of the map, immediately to the right of the right navigation arrow (you can see the Temple Mount at the center bottom of the map). Notice the dotted line just to the south and southwest of the neighborhood. That is the line that the nations of the world use to carve out Israel's heartland, Judea and Samaria (calling it the West Bank), from the rest of the land of Israel:
